Toilet Day 2007 Commemoration & Artisan Training
Promotion of sanitation and hygiene activities for World Toilet Day 2007.November 19th was declared World Toilet Day in 2001 by 17 associations around the world. Tanzania has been involved in the commemoration of the World Toilet Day since 2007.
EEPCO participated in the commemoration of World Toilet Day 2007, held at Ifunda (Iringa Region).
During the event, three sanitation options were constructed and demonstrated by using locally available materials: SanPlat latrine and pour flush latrine (direct and off-set). Moreover, pit lining techniques were demonstrated.
Further sanitation and hygiene promotion activities included:
- SanPlat production training
- Information and training on options for hand-washing facilities
- Training on pit lining options (dry bond) with locally available materials (trapezoidal blocks, burnt bricks)
